Their names are Mary Spencer, Mandy Bujold and Sandra Bizier and currently they represent Canada’s best hope to compete at the Olympic Summer Games in London in July of 2012 in women’s boxing. It will be the first time that this sport will participate at the Olympics so these women have a chance to make history. They will have to qualify for the Games when they compete with the world’s best at the Women’s Boxing Championships in China. Before that, they will have to come out on top against their Canadian competition in Cape Breton. Mary’s stiffest challenge will be defeating Ariane Fortin, the queen of Quebec boxing. Mary and Ariane have traded titles in the past. For Mandy and Sandra, who awaits to challenge them? Only one boxer will qualify from each of the three weight categories for China and then hopefully the Olympics. These are some of the intriguing storylines that will be explored in the documentary. From Canada to China, we follow the competitors as they prepare for this once in a lifetime opportunity. Who are these women and what motivates them to compete in such a sport? Which of them will succeed?
